This the  ship to carry the name HMS Goliath was a second rate, 80-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 25-Jul-1842, 190ft long, 57ft wide and of 2,596 tons builders measurement.

Conversion to a screw ship completed 30-Nov-1857.

Loaned as a training ship 1870.

Burnt by accident 22-Dec-1875.
