HMS Esk (1934) DD  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Esk was an E Class, destroyer.

Built by Swan Hunter, laid down 23-Mar-1933, launched 19-Mar-1934 and commissioned 26-Sep-1934.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

Operated as a minelayer with the 20th Destroyer Flotilla.

Struck a mine and sank 01-Sep-1940 north-west of Texel.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939, Norway 1940 and Dunkirk 1940.
