HMS Encounter (1873) (4th)

This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Encounter was a
14-gun, wooden screw corvette. Built at Sheerness Dockyard, launched 01-Jan-1873, 220ft long, 37ft wide and displacing 1,970 tons. Armed with 14 x 64pdr guns. Sold Oct-1888. Won the Battle Honour: Ashantee 1873-74.
