This the first ship to carry the name HMS Clarence was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Blackburn of Turnchapel, launched 11-Apr-1812 176ft long, 48ft wide and of 1,749 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Centurion1826.
