This the first ship to carry the name HMS Chesterfield was a fifth rate, 44-gun, ship.

Built by Quallet of Rotherhithe, launched 31-Oct-1745, 128ft long, 36ft 6in wide and of 719 tons builders measurement.

Foundered 21-Jul-1726 off Bahamas.
