This the first ship to carry the name HMS Ceres was an 18-gun sloop.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 25-Mar-1777, 108ft 6in long, 27ft 6in wide and of 361 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Raven 04-Jul-1782.

Captured 15-Dec-1782 by French in the West Indies.

Won the Battle Honour: St. Lucia 1778.
