HMS Centaur (1916) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Centaur was a Light Cruiser. The lead ship of a class of two.

Built by Armstrong of Elswick, laid down 24-Jan-1915, launched 06-Jan-1916, and completed Aug-1916.

On completion joined the 5th Light Cruiser Squadron at Harwich, 1916-19, detached to the Baltic 1918-1919. To the Mediterranean 1919023. Returned to the UK and reserve at Devonport 1923-24. Refitted at Rosyth 1924-25. Served as Commodore (D) Atlantic Fleet 1925-32.

Into reserve at Portsmouth 1932. 

Sold Feb-1934 for breaking up at Troon.

Won the Battle Honour: Belgian Coast 1916-17.
