3rd Rate 74-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Captain was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Batson of Limehouse, launched 26-Nov-1787, 170ft long, 47ft wide and of 1,639 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from Dec-1809.

Burned by accident at Plymouth 22-Mar-1813.

Broken up Jul 1813.

Won the Battle Honours: Genoa 1795, St. Vincent 1797 and Martinique 1809.
