This the first ship to carry the name HMS Bacchante was a sixth rate, 20-gun, ship.

Originally French, captured 25-June-1803 by HMS Endymion in the Atlantic. 131ft long, 33ft wide and of 642 tons builders measurement.

Sold 27-Feb-1809.
