This the first ship to carry the name HMS Apollo was a 20-gun, storeship.

Originally French, captured 03-May-1747, 127ft 6in long, 36ft 6in wide and of 744 tons builders measurement. Armed with 16 x 9pdr and 4 x 6pdr guns.

Wrecked 12-Apr-1749 off Madras.
