Algerine Class (1942) MS

The Algerine Class (1942) minesweepers comprised 110 ships. (Twelve of which were operated by the Royal Canadian Navy and served only on the convoy escort role.)

They were designed as small vessels able to serve in several roles in addition to minesweeping. This meant that with the shortage of escorts many served in the escort role.

After WW2 several were used as patrol boats, survey ships and training ships.
