Description The action was a daylight attack when Vice-Admiral Spragg's squadron attacked and set on fire seven pirate warships & three Algerine corsairs in Bugia Bay (now port De Bugia). The fireships Eagle and Rose were both expended.

They went on to bombard the town castle, killing about 360 people.
