This the second ship to carry the name HMS Sybille was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built at Pembroke Dock, launched 15-Apr-1847, 160ft long, 49ft wide and of 1,633 tons builders measurement. Armed with 36 x 32pdr guns.

Broken up 1866 at Plymouth.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1856-60.
