HMS Sentinel (1905) CC  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Sentinel was the lead ship of a class of two Scout Cruisers.

Built by Vickers o Barrow, laid down 08-Jun-1903, launched 19-Apr-1904 and completed Apr-1905.

On completion joined the Channel Fleet for special service 1905-07, then went into reserve 1907-09.

Joined the 5th Destroyer Flotilla, 3rd Fleet 1909-12, then refitted 1912. Joined the 3rd Light Cruiser Squadron 1913. Leader, 9th Destroyer Flotilla at the Nore 1913, 6th Destroyer Flotilla Portsmouth/Dover 1913-14, 8th Destroyer Flotilla at the Forth 1914-15.

Joined the 6th Light Cruiser Squadron at the Humber 1915, then went to the Mediterranean 1915-18. The Aegean 1918, Black Sea 1918-19.

Returned to the UK and paid off at Sheerness Apr-1919.

Used as Mechanics Training Ship at Chatham 1920-22.

Sold 1923.
