This the third ship to carry the name HMS Saracen was a Cherokee Class, 10-gun, brig-sloop.

Built at Plymouth Dockyard, launched 30-Jan-1831, and of 228 tons builders measurement.

Used as a survey vessel from Feb-1854.

Exchanged 10-Sep-1862 at Singapore in part payment for Young Queen, the next HMS Saracen.
