HMS Pelorus (1897) CC  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Pelorus was a 3rd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Sheerness Dockyard, laid down May-1896, launched 15-Dec-1896 and completed 1897.

On completion served with the Channel Fleet 1897-1901, during which she was detached to the Cape Station during 1899-1900. Went into reserve 1901-05 and refitted 1903.

Went to the Cape Station 1905-09, returned to the UK and the 3rd Fleet 1909-12. To the East Indies 1912-14. Returned to the UK 1914, and moved to Gibraltar 1915-16.

Final duty was at Suda Bay, as a Depot ship 1916-18.

Returned to the UK and paid off at the Nore 1919.

Sold 1920.
