This the second ship to carry the name HMS Medea was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

Built by Hill House of Bristol, launched 28-Apr-1778, 120ft 6in long, 33ft 6in wide and of 605 tons builders measurement.

Sold 1795.

Won the Battle Honour: Trincomalee 1782.
