This the second ship to carry the name HMS Iris was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Built by Barnard at Deptford, launched 02-May-1783, 126ft long, 35ft 6in wide and of 688 tons builders measurement.

Loaned to Trinity House Oct-1803.

Renamed HMS Solebay 18-Nov-1809.

Broken up Oct-1803 at Devonport.
