HMS Escapade (1934) DD  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Escapade was an E Class, destroyer.

Built by Scotts, paid out 30-Mar-1933, launched 30-Jan-1934, and commissioned 30-Aug-1934.

Took part in the King George V Silver Jubilee Fleet Review 16-Jul-1935.

Served in mainly in home waters until late 1942. Then Nov-1942 took part in the North Africa landings. Early 1943 it was back to ocean convoy escort in the North Atlantic which she continued doing for the rest of the war.

Sold 26-Nov-1946.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1939-45, Norway 1940, Arctic 1941-42 and Malta Convoys 1942.
