This the first ship to carry the name HMS Emerald was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

Originally French (Emeraude), captured by HMS Southampton 21-Sep-1757, 115ft 6in long, 34ft wide and of 571 tons builders measurement.

Broken up Nov-1761.
