This the second ship to carry the name HMS Daring was a 12-gun brig.

Construction began at Sheerness Dockyard, but was transferred to and completed at Portsmouth Dockyard, and launched 02-Apr-1844. 104ft long, 31ft 6in wide and of 426 tons builders measurement. Armed with 10 x 32pdr and 2 x 18pdr guns.

Sold 07-Oct-1864.
