Wooden Screw Gunboat 2-gun

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Clown was the name ship of a class of twelve, 2-gun, wooden screw gunboats.

Built by Miller of Liverpool, laid down 14-Jan-1856, launched 20-May-1856 and completed 04-may-1857.

Used as a coal lighter at Hong Kong from 1867 and renamed YC1. Then renamed  YC6 Dec-1869.

Wrecked at Hong Kong 02-Sep-1871 during typhoon.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1856-60.
