This the third ship to carry the name HMS Cherokee was a 2 gun, wooden paddle vessel.

Built at Kingston, Ontario, launched 22-Sep-1842, 170ft long, 31ft wide and of 750 tons builders measurement. Armed with 1 x 8in and 1 x 32pdr guns.

Sold 30-Oct-1851.
