Yacht 2-gun

   
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Calypso was a 2-gun, yacht.

Originally designed and built as a 10-gun, Cherokee Class brig-sloop of 233 tons builders measurement.

Launched 19-Aug-1826, and completed as a yacht for the Governor of Malta, then removed from the Navy List.

Returned to the Royal Navy about 1830 as a packet brig.

Foundered 01-Feb-1833 after colliding with an iceberg in the North Atlantic.
