This the first ship to carry the name HMS Argo was a sixth rate, 28-gun ship.

Built by Bird of Rotherhithe, and launched 20-Jul-1758, 118ft long, 34ft wide and of 601 ton builders measurement.

Broken up at Portsmouth by 08-Nov-1776.
