This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Ardent was a 5-gun, wooden, paddle sloop.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 12-Feb-1841, 165ft long, 33ft wide and of 801 tons builders measurement.

Arrived at Charlton for breaking up 02-Mar-1865.

Won the Battle Honour: Crimea 1854-55.
