Description The action took place of Brest.

It was a rare single ship action between two ships-of-the-line.

HMS Foudroyant engaged and took the French ship Pegase (70-gun). The action ended when Pegase was boarded after suffering 90 casualties.

Pegase was later commissioned into the Royal Navy as a 3rd Rate ship-of-the-line.
