Description The action took place about 20 miles west-by-south (202º) of Start Point, Devon.

At 0330hrs HMS Nymph sighted  a sail to to the south east and at 0400hrs gave chase.

The action began at 0615hrs and after about 50 minutes the British boarded and captured the Cleopatre.

Cleopatre suffered 63 casualties and Nymph 50.
