Description The action took place off the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean.

The armed merchant cruiser HMS Carmania (8 x 4.7" guns) attacked and sank the German armed liner Cap Trafalgar from the Hamburg-Sud-America Line.

Carmania lost 9 killed and 26 wounded.
